Top 10 Weird and Wonderful Finds at the NASFT Fancy Food Show

The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) Fancy Food Show was held in San Francisco last week. It was the first time our lives so many men (hundreds) have glanced at our poitrine (saw we weren’t going to bulk-buy anything) and dismissed us. Humbling and yet, made it so much easier to just let go and eat all the carbs and chocolate in site. Vendors are vying to have distributors and manufacturers sample and (hopefully) order their products and grow their businesses. As a trade show though, it’s serious business. It’s a gourmet trade show with thousands of vendors set up in three rooms the size of several football fields. It’s akin to someone opening every single product at Bristol Farms, Unique LA and the corner store and offering you a bite. Oh, and foie gras.

We each chose our favorite cookies from the bunch, 12 per person, and we’ll post one cookie per day from December 1-12, our own little 12 Days of Cookies.
