Stanwich celebrates new field

Geise marked his first Charter Day by wearing a hat decorated with AstroTurf, in honor of the new field. Stanwich School had been planning for a first on Friday -- the first run around the school's brand new artificial turf field. Young, a former faculty member and lower school head at Greenwich Academy , founded Stanwich School in 1998 because she thought there was a need for a different kind of co-ed institution in the area. The celebration was bittersweet for the school's founder, Headmistress Pat Young , who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
