Hop on your bike for Bikewise month

"Bikewise month is a great opportunity to encourage more people to give cycling a go. A range of Bikewise events are being organised for all ages and abilities so the whole family can get involved," Mr Maloney said. Bay of Plenty Regional Council is encouraging you to participate in Bikewise month which is New Zealand's national programme of activities that promote cycling as a fun, healthy and safe way to travel. Bay of Plenty Regional Council is supporting the regional events coordinated across Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakat. Hop on your bike too and get involved in some of the events and activities being held across the Bay of Plenty. During February, people across the nation will be jumping on their bikes to have some fun and take part in active transport.

Finding the ultimate bmx

You may identify a BMX bike from your average bike in a number of ways. An average bicycle frame is rather heavy when compared to the frame on a BMX bicycle. A regular bike tire may have a few grooves or ridges, but a BMX tire tread has large knobs and crevices to help gain traction and maintain control in the dirt. The lightweight frame sets BMX apart from other recreational bikes. The tread on a BMX tire is much different when compared to your average bicycle tire. Specific features of a BMX bike include standard 20 inch tyres. Rough terrain would be too much to handle for an average bicycle tire, but BMX tread may get the job done. These qualities help to make a BMX frame both durable and practical. BMX frames are formed from aluminum or chrome steel. The sturdy, yet lightweight, frame of the BMX may withstand shock well. How does BMX keep their frames so light and durable.
