CD Mirandés and Pablo Infante earn

In a week that has been dominated by a soap opera storyline involving the club from the capital, it would have to take something special to put it into the shade. A well run club, working hard to remain financially competent and operating on a meagre budget of just under €1m, they currently sit top of the pile in Segunda División B, Group 2.  This was then followed by an even more incredible spectacle, as they travelled to El Madrigal having earned a 1-1 draw in the first leg. The club based out of Burgos, in the province of Castile and León, have captured the hearts and imaginations of football fans throughout Spain. Many thought Los Submarino Amarillos quality would prevail, but they were swept aside by a confident, hard working and talented Mirandés side who deservedly won 0-2. And CD Mirandés, are very special. A fine performance at their own Estadio Anduva, with a feverish atmosphere backing them in the tiny stadium, shook well seasoned names such as Carlos Marchena and Borja Valero.

Loc Rocker: Swimming with Locs

Each summer as a kid, I took swimming lessons and went to camps where we went swimming often. See, one side of me is this half vegan, half raw foodie, sometimes chicken consumer, Hello Kitty lovin', power to the people, free spirted loc rockin' philanthropist who loves to read. I will definitely refer back to this post once I start my locs and want to continue swimming. I figured training in the pool two to three times a week was not a good time to start locs. I'm one of those Black girls who have been swimming since I was a kid. Black Girls Swim. I know, I know. I’m currently natural and I have been contemplating getting locs, but I was waiting until I finished my triathlon in August before I started the journey. Family vacations meant trips to islands where we did nothing but swim, jet ski, sail and snorkle. I don't remember NOT swimming. Then there's the make-up lover who loves to travel, show off, party in the night and ask random hot men out on dates. I love the water a whole lot.
