Before Romsa showed up at the house, he made sure to bring his lease to prove that he is allowed to be on the property. Romsa and his girlfriend started their life together at that house, but it became too much to handle, so they had to move out in May. Despite everything wrong with the house, it was still a home for Romsa, his girlfriend Tricia Reichard, and her five children. The house already had several problems that the landlord failed to take care of before Romsa moved into it in December 2010. On the front window of the house was a bright orange condemnation notice from Orlando Code Enforcement. The windows were very old and frail and wouldn't lock when closed, which led to burglars sneaking in through them and robbing the house. The house was eventually condemned in August.
